Can you feel it?

The perpetual shift; the pull into the spiral downward. Back to earth.

I love travel. Mostly because for so long you’re no where. You’re no one. You’re trapped in between time. It’s like not existing. Being without your feet on the floor. Movement at warp speed. East Coast to West. Literal time travel.

The sun beat deep into my pores on the shores of Tulum. Sand exfoliations. Something magical happened there, as I hoped it would. It had been too long since I had been around the girls who make me as me as I make me me. It’s interesting how we’re simply the accumulation of the hands that have touched our hearts.

Mexico offers something vibrant. Hair as brown as brown can get. A slower way of speaking. A romance that has nothing to do with sex, but then you’re unable to think of anything but. I came back feeling ignited. A match sliding across emery. Heat accumulating in one fine point. How powerful.

We live but once. Why do we always forget that? And I believe certainly in reincarnation. None the less – this is what we have. Souls housed in flesh. Flesh filled with blood. Blood pulsing with heat. Heat ignited by touch.

So touch. Touch. Touch skin, touch lips, touch warm, inviting, enveloping – touch. It’s all we have. It’s all that makes us human.

Johnathan Safran Foer: “Humans are the only animal that blushes, laughs, has religion, wages war, and kisses with lips. So in a way, the more you kiss with lips, the more human you are. And the more you wage war.”

So understand this: The craving for flesh makes you human. Do not deny what gives you your humanity. Electrodes orbiting neurons (or do I have that backwards) – buzzing. A bunch of little nothings exploding to create you. We are the biggest figments of our own imaginations.

Touch is as real as it gets.

So devour each other; and become engulfed in flame.
